BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State biologists and wildlife
enforcement agents have rescued four oiled Kemp's Ridley sea
turtles off the coast of Grand Isle.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says agents
retrieved the turtles Tuesday.
Officials say the turtles were taken to the fisheries research
lab in Grand Isle where they were cleaned and prepped for transport
to the sea turtle rescue program at the Audubon Aquarium of the
America's in New Orleans.
Kemp's Ridleys are the smallest and most endangered species of
sea turtle in the world.
