Scattered thunderstorms are already developing across Acadiana and will gradually spread eastward and cover more ground as we go through the morning. An upper level system over southeast Texas is moving toward Louisiana and will help to fire up those storms. Even more coverage later this morning to around midday as we add some daytime heating to the recipe.
Rainfall totals could exceed an inch over most areas again, and isolated higher amounts are likely. Gusty winds and even some small hail is possible.
Rains should end later in the afternoon and the evening should be dry. As the upper level disturbance moves east of the area Saturday it appears the weekend will be drier with highs in the 90s. Tropics remain quiet.
