More triple digit heat is expected for many Midwestern cities as a persistent weather pattern stays put most of this week. The temp in St. Louis Monday climbed to 106 degrees, the 14th 100 degree day this summer. Today will be number 15 with the forecast high to be 108. Yesterday's high failed to reach the record books with the highest temp 108 set back in during the brutal summer of 1934. Hopefully today's record will be safe too..a whopping 111 also in the summer of '34.
A record may be tied today though. This should be the 10th time St. Louis reaches a high of 105 or more this summer. 1934 holds the current 10 day record. Tomorrow the forecast is 106 degrees. Will the all time record fall??
