Locally heavy showers and some hefty thunderstorms will develop once again across the area Friday night through Saturday.
The greatest risk of storms through Saturday morning will be across the western and northern portions of Acadiana...areas that have been hammered by heavy rain and storms over the last few days. Flooding rains will continue to be a concern.
There may also be a slight risk of severe storms once again tonight, especially across Central Louisiana.
Meanwhile the rest of us in Acadiana will see on and off shower and thunderstorm activity overnight through Saturday afternoon/early evening as a cool front approaches.
There may be a slight risk of severe storms during the daytime hours for all of Acadiana if there is sufficient heating as wind profiles aloft will be similar to the last couple of days. Stay with KATC for the latest.
A front Saturday evening will usher in cooler conditions Sunday, but over-running cloud cover and disturbances may keep rain chances with us at least through midday Sunday.
Finally, drier air and some sun are expected Monday, but computer models remain messy with more disturbances and on and off rain chances for much of next week.
Temperatures next week will be closer to what we normally expect this time of year with highs in the low-mid 60s while lows cool into the mid-40s.
