Monroe Mother Gets 10 Years in Son's Death

MONROE, La. (AP) - A Monroe woman has been sentenced to 10 years
in jail in the beating death of her 11-month-old son.
Geveva Mott was sentenced Thursday in
state district court in Monroe.
Mott, who was 20 years old at the time of the crime, was
convicted of one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile
earlier this year in the death of her son, Leonard Ross III.
