MONROE, La. (AP) - Monroe Regional Airport is increasing rental rates, landing fees and baggage conveyor fees charged to airlines.
On Tuesday, The News-Star reports the Monroe City Council introduced three ordinances for the city to approve the airport's new lease agreements with Delta Air Lines, United-Continental and American Airlines.
Interim Airport Director Ron Phillips told city officials that the agreements establish new rates that the airport will charge the three airlines for the next five years. He said it's the first rate increase since 2005.
Since the new terminal opened, Phillips said the airlines have been using twice as much space at the airport.
