Acadia Parish Deputies identified the man who was killed Sunday in a triple shooting as 18-year-old D'Andre Goodley of Eunice.
So far, no arrests have been made. The shooting happened at a gas station off LA-35 in Branch just after eight o'clock Sunday night.
The two others shot are recovering. Deputies questioned four people who've since been released from custody.
Goodley's mother says her son's death is surreal after she received a call saying her son was shot.
"I'm thinking once he was hit, he passed right there," said Carolyn Semien.
She rushed to the hospital and once she was there, she realized how serious her son's wounds were.
"The nurse asked me to sit down and when I did, I knew the news was not good. The doctor came out and said they did everything they could and the heart wouldn't start beating again."
Semien says her son was taken too soon. She says he was smart, loved learning something new and cooking. Like most boys, she says he was mischievous, but had a great personality.
"He was loved by everyone. Children, adults, teachers, everyone still loved him."
That love making this loss even harder, but her love runs deep. Semien even prays for whoever took her son's life.
"You never know how you're going to leave or which way, but I'm just praying for the families of the ones that did the crime because they are going through something just like me. I lost someone, but they're suffering also," said Semien.
D'Andre Goodley's body was taken to Lake Charles where an autopsy is being performed.
