MINDEN, La. (AP) - A 19-year-old Webster Parish woman, who was indicted for first-degree murder in the death of her infant son, entered a guilty plea to manslaughter.
Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin tells The Minden Press-Herald Brittany Tyson entered her plea Wednesday and several other charges against her were dropped.
Tyson was arrested by sheriff's deputies in July.
She was charged with the first-degree murder of her 4-month-old son, Riley Wayne Tyson, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies say Tyson admitted to shaking her son to get him to stop crying.
Tyson will be sentenced in court Feb. 14.
