Moderator of Child Porn Site Sentenced to 38 Years

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Louisiana authorities say the moderator of an online exploitation network has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for his role in an international child pornography ring.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley says in a news release that seven other people were also sentenced in the past week in Louisiana. Finley says Edward Oedewaldt, 49, of Arcadia, La., was the moderator of Dreamboard and handled the encryption of posts so law enforcement could not catch participants.
U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks in federal court in Shreveport sentenced Oedewaldt on Wednesday to 38 years. Finley says Oedewaldt is the highest level member of the group convicted so far.
