A 44-year-old Mississippi man has pleaded
guilty to killing his girlfriend in a suburban New Orleans motel
three years ago.
Terry Robinson had been accused of slashing and strangling
32-year-old Lesley Justice. Both were from Starkville.
Robinson pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20
years in prison. He had been charged with second-degree murder,
which carries an automatic life sentence without parole.
Robinson took a plea deal Wednesday just before a jury was to
hear opening arguments.
Investigators say Justice was killed in an apparent domestic
dispute.
