New Orleans Police Department and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies are requesting help from the public in a search for a missing University of New Orleans student.
19-year-old Hayley Howard was last seen driving, in an intoxicated state, from a parking lot on the UNO campus around 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning, according to police. Police said that Howard was driving a silver 2002 silver Toyota Corolla bearing Louisiana license plate number XBP643.
According to a friend who works with Howard at Superior Seafood, the two met co-workers at a bar on Magazine Street after work. The friend said that Howard had dropped her off at her UNO dormitory, and then departed for home in Slidell.
Howard commutes to and from school.
Ten minutes after leaving, Howard's phone pinged the Leon C. Simon cellular tower. Four hours later, her phone pinged the Irish Bayou tower.
Howard is a white female, 5'3" and about 105 pounds, seen last wearing a knee-length black dress with white polka dots and black shoes.
Family and friends intend to distribute fliers at the school Monday.
