According to WKRG, the identity of a teen that went missing while swimming in Gulf Shores, Alabama has been identified as 17-year-old Chaston Brown of Ponchatoula.
A distress call was received by Gulf Shores police about a male juvenile who was in distress in the water about 4 p.m. Sunday. The search had to be suspended because of rough surf and fading light after searching for over three hours.
WKRG reports that the Gulf Shores Police Department resumed their search Monday.
There's currently a high risk of dangerous rip currents on the state's beaches, according to the weather service. WKRG reports that double red flags are flying to warn swimmers to stay out of the water.
