BELLEVUE, La. (AP) A missing Shreveport man's body has been found at the Bayou Bodcau recreation area, about 20 miles east of Shreveport in Bossier Parish.

Bossier Parish sheriff's deputies and Shreveport police say 59-year-old Ted Lowrie apparently killed himself.

A state Wildlife and Fisheries agent found Lowery's truck and body Sunday. The coroner's office and Bossier Parish deputies say his body and a weapon were several yards from the truck. He had been shot in the head.

Lowery had been missing since he left his home last Thursday.

Bossier Parish deputies turned the case over to Shreveport police, who agree that foul play is not suspected.

The Bossier Parish coroner will make a final ruling on the cause of death.
