Missing Man's Body Found in Iberville Parish Canal

The body of a missing Assumption Parish man has been found in an Iberville Parish canal. Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack says the remains of Tony Rodriguez, Jr., were discovered by fishermen in the Rocky Canal. Investigators say Rodriguez was shot in the chest. An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow at the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.
According to Waguespack's office, Rodriguez was the victim of an alleged armed robbery Tuesday night on LA 998 near Belle Rose. The investigation into that incident is ongoing.
