Missing Man Found Alive on Boat in the Gulf

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office and Coast Guard rescued a man who had been missing since January 3rd in the Gulf of Mexico. The 34' sailboat and the passenger, 52-year old Josiah Hoffman of Mississippi, went missing in a severe storm. The vessel was located about six miles south of Marsh Island. Hoffman told them because of the storm, he lost all communication and suffered severe damage to his boat. He was safely transported to Cypremort Point.
