Lafayette--The alleged duck robbers are behind bars and the duck is going home.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) have arrested Garcon Cormier, 21, and Kyle Cormier, 25, both of Lafayette Parish, on Wednesday evening and charged each with one count of felony theft.
The inflatable duck was recovered and will be returned to the Boys and Girls Club. More arrests are expected in the case as the investigation remains ongoing.
Earlier on Wednesday, detectives had released a surveillance photo of a dark colored Chevrolet 4-door Silverado, with inflatable duck aboard and flailing in the wind, traveling on Johnston St.
Information regarding the alleged theft by the Cormiers was obtained via Crimestoppers. Lafayette police say investigation into the case is ongoing. The two Cormiers have been charged with Felony theft, and their and bond is $3,000.

The arrest affidavit specifies that Kyle Cormier "admitted to stealing the duck" and that Cormier is "one of four subjects who removed the 14-foot, inflatable, yellow-in-color duck" from the front of Walgreens on Johnston St. Lafayette police say the investigation into the case is ongoing and that more arrests are expected.
