Deputies say a missing 3-yearold boy is safe, and in state custody, after his grandmother turned herself in. Around 9:45 tonight, deputies say Rebecca Foster called the Lafayette Sheriff's Office to turn the child over to authorities. Deputies say when they arrived to meet Foster at the Texaco on Pinhook Road and Evangeline Thruway the boy was in the car. Foster is being booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail. The boy is safe, and doing well according to deputies.
As you recall the boy's grandfather, Monty Wilson, was arrested Thursday on kidnapping charges. Deputies say he intentionally kept his grandson from the Department of Children and Family Services, which was granted legal custody of the child earlier this month.
