GRETNA, La. (AP) - A 25-year-old Mississippi man has been arrested in connection with a shooting death during the Independence Day weekend in Louisiana.
Terrance Miller of Pattison, Miss., was booked with second-degree murder Monday after being extradited from Mississippi to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. He is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond.
Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson tells The Times-Picayune that Miller was arrested in the death of 33-year-old Keidrick Shorty Sr. of Marrero on July 3. Two other men have been booked with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder in the incident.
Lawson said the shooting happened outside a bar.
