Mire fire destroys home

Today, multiple fire agencies responded to a structure fire in Acadia parish.

Mire along with Duson and Branch Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at 158 Shield Road in Mire around 4:20 pm. The fire is still under investigation, however it appears the cause of the fire is from a cigarette.

The home is a total loss, but fortunately all four people and 3 pets made it out safely.
