Mild Weekend, Rain Chances Sunday

What a difference a day has made across Acadiana as temperatures soared into the mid-upper 60s Friday afternoon a little more than 24 hours after Thursday morning readings were in the frigid mid-upper teens.

Milder conditions will continue into the weekend with plenty of clouds mixed with some sun Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the lower 70s.

With a milder and increasingly moist flow from the Gulf of Mexico, there will be the opportunity for thick sea fog moving in Saturday night through Sunday morning as temperatures hold in the more fog favorable zone of the lower 60s.

A weakening cool front will approach the area Sunday engendering more clouds and showers Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening.

Incidentally, "Pierre C. Shadeaux" the New Iberia Nutria will likely not see his shadow spelling an early return of spring...but that's the usual for Acadiana's climate!

Look for cooler, but not colder conditions to return to the area Sunday night into Monday but there will be another quick warm-up Tuesday ahead of the next front that should produce showers and some thunderstorms late Tuesday into Tuesday night.

It will be cooler/colder again later next week but not frigid.

The pattern for Acadiana looks rather energetic later next week into the following weekend with a good chance of showers and storms developing by Friday.
