LAFAYETTE, LA. Get out to the Cajundome Sunday, Aug. 25, to support the back-to-back New Orleans Bowl winners and get the Ragin' Cajuns ready for their Aug. 31 season opener on the road against Arkansas. Fall Fan Day gets under way at 5 p.m.
The Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Department is hosting the event, which is presented by MidSouth Bank.
The first 5,000 fans through the door receive a "Building Tradition" T-shirt from MidSouth South Bank and Louisiana Safety Systems. The T-shirts show Head Coach Mark Hudspeth "holding the rope" while wearing both of his New Orleans Bowl rings.
The free event, which ends at 7 p.m., is intended to kick off game week. There will also be free Ragin' Cajuns autograph pennants for young fans.
Posters for the 2013 Louisiana football, volleyball, soccer teams as well as the Ragin' Jazz and cheerleaders will be available, along with Ragin' Cajuns schedule key tags. Fans will have a chance to get autographs from Ragin' Cajun football, soccer and volleyball players and coaches. The Ragin' Cajun cheerleaders and the Ragin' Jazz will also be on hand for autographs.
Young fans will enjoy fun jumps, and the Red Zone will be set up for fans purchasing Ragin' Cajuns merchandise.
Fans also will have the opportunity to buy season tickets, join the Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Foundation and pick up the commemorative DVD of the 2012 football season documentary "Tie That Binds."
