Chilly winter temperatures will stay in Acadiana through Thursday, but milder temperatures are in the forecast for the weekend.
High cloudiness through early Wednesday morning should keep most areas in Acadiana in the mid-upper 30s overnight, but locations well to the north and west, where skies will be clear, could see light freezing temperatures Wednesday morning.
Sunny skies and cool conditions will return for our Wednesday with highs in the upper 50s.
The best chance of a freeze and/or frost for all of Acadiana will come late Wednesday night into Thursday morning with clear skies and nearly calm winds.
Sunny skies will continue Thursday with milder highs pushing into the low-mid 60s.
The warming trend will continue with increasing clouds Friday into the weekend. The risk of showers and a few storms will develop Saturday and it looks to stay unsettled and occasionally wet weather Sunday into early next week.
High temperatures will be back into the mid-70s this weekend, but another chill down is anticipated for mid-next week.
