In St. Martin Parish, a meth lab bust lands two people behind bars.
After finding three meth labs and three children inside of a home in Parks, officers arrested 28-year-old Heather Cormier and 20-year-old Christopher Romero.
The children ages range from four months to eight years old.
Being exposed to chemicals used to make meth could be harmful, even deadly.
Narcotics agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office received a tip and made the discovery Wednesday night while serving warrants.
Investigating deputies say Cormier and Romero not only put the kids' lives in jeopardy but also everyone who lives nearby.
"It could blow up," said Major Ginny Higgins with St.Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.
three young children are with relatives.
Cormier and Romero are facing charges for creating meth labs, possessing illegal drugs and having them around children.
