METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office has identified a 35-year-old woman killed Sunday when she crashed her SUV into an Interstate 10 sound wall in Metairie.
Coroner's investigator Tommy Evans tells The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/VDnVjJ ) Katherine Rush of Metairie dead from multiple blunt force injuries before the blaze incinerated the vehicle.
Witnesses told authorities that Rush's small SUV crossed south Interstate 10 Service Road West and slammed head-on into an adjacent sound wall.
The fire burned Rush's body, the car's license plate, its vehicle identification number and other documents.
