French at the Market returns to the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm on March 8th for the second Saturday, monthly celebration of Acadiana's Cajun French heritage.
At 9 a.m., Mercredi de Musique, a French music group of Lafayette Parish fifth graders led by Marty Christian, will perform original songs for all to enjoy.
At 9:30 a.m., Brenda Mounier will lead a multi-generational French conversation circle and teach Market-goers the history and motions of traditional Cajun Lenten dances.
A line up of local artists, farmers, and food vendors will be set up at the Horse Farm offering handcrafted wares, farm fresh produce, and locally-made foods.
Musicians of all ages and skill level are invited to join in on this Saturday's Cajun jam, which takes place at the Market each week, 9-11 a.m.
The Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at The Horse Farm serves as the venue for seasonal, farm-based products, and artisanal creations, offered by local producers, artists and vendors in a celebratory atmosphere of community, enrichment and entrepreneurism, created through the mutual support of its members and patrons.
The Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., rain or shine. Visit http://www.marketatthehorsefarm.com/
