MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A father and son have drowned on a Memphis lake after the son accidentally fell out of their boat and the father jumped in to save him.
Memphis Fire Department officials told WMC-TV the two had been fishing on Coro Lake Sunday night when the accident occurred.
Searchers recovered both bodies after about an hour. The father was in his forties. Neighbors said the son was nine years old.
Neighbor Joellen Buehler said the family moved there from New Orleans a couple of years ago and has been very involved in the community.
She said the father and son went fishing on the lake every weekend.
The names of the victims have not been released. The fire department and medical examiner are investigating.
