Meet Author Kelli Foret: "The Acadiana Art Trail"
ABBEVILLE - If you have always been interested in art, the Vermilion Parish Library has just the person for you. Kelly Foret, author of "The Acadiana Art Trail", will visit to talk about her new book and her love of art. Kelli was born and raised in New Iberia; her influences are noticeably Cajun and deceptively deep. Her canvases, commonly made of sinker cypress (straight from the Atchafalaya Basin) and anything recycled, reflect a range of primitive folk designs that hint at her roots and travels. Her style can be called silly and that won't bother her one bit. She lives in a whimsical world - one intentionally built, stroke by stroke. It's a life constructed, hodgepodge at times, out of painting, sculpture, music, writing, travel and photography.
Kelli will be at the Abbeville Branch Library on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. For more information call 337-893-2674.
