The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/01/2014:
1. Miranda J. Topham, 32 years of age, Address-Saturn Rd. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 12:05am
Charge: Theft (2 Counts); Criminal Damage to Property
Officers were summoned to Teche Regional in regards to a theft. Officers arrived and during the investigation learned that Miranda Topham, had entered
a treatment room in the ER section and had committed the theft of a splint and box of gloves. Officers questioned Topham who admitted to the theft. She was arrested
and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
2. Donald L. Jackson, 32 years of age, Address-Highway 182 E. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 1:34am
Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute; Transactions Involving Proceeds from CDS Activity
Detectives with the Narcotics Division of the Morgan City Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence located on Highway 182 in Morgan City. The warrant
was obtained as a result of illegal narcotics activity complaints at the residence. During the warrant, the occupant and resident of the apartment, Donald Jackson was located along
with several pieces of suspected crack cocaine. Investigators also discovered over $400.00 in cash which was derived from the sale of illegal narcotics. Jackson, who admitted to
the activity was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
3. Robin D. Gilbert, 55 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 2:15am
Charge: Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Department-Failure to Appear for Simple Burglary
A patrolling officer located a suspicious vehicle and it's occupants in the area of the Fisherman's Wharf on Front St. and stopped to investigate. One subject was identified as Robin Gilbert who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department. Gilbert was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
