MCPD Daily Arrest Report

The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 10/18/2013:

1. Didier M. Sanchez, 32 years of age, Address- Trevino St. Berwick, Louisiana was arrested on 10/19/2013 @2:01am

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated; No Driver's License; Driving Left of Center; Speeding

While on patrol, officer observed a vehicle speeding in the area of Brahsear Ave. Upon trying to catch up with vehicle, the officer observed the vehicle cross the center line several times. Upon vehicle stopping, officer spoke to the driver, Didier Sanchez. Subject exhibited signs of being impaired and did poorly on a field sobriety test. He was arrested and handcuffed. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an intoxilyzer test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .125. Didier Sanchez was charged accordingly and was booked and remains incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail Facility.

2. Elder Auturo Corado Salzar, 36 years of age, Address-Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 10/20/2013 @ 3:52am

Charges: No Driver's License and No Seat Belt

While on patrol in the area of Second and Greenwood Streets, MCPD Officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be stopped in the middle of the intersection with the subject revving the motor. As the officer approached the vehicle they observed the driver Elder Salzar was not wearing his seat belt. Officer Conducted traffic stop and found that Salzar did not have a driver's license. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was charged accordingly. He was booked and remains incarcerated.

3. Jermoud E. Watts, 23 years of age, Address-Brashear Ave. Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 10/21/2013 @ 3:05am.

Charge- Warrant- Theft under $300

While on patrol in the area of Fourth and Greenwood Street an MCPD officer observed a subject walking on the sidewalk. Upon the subject seeing the officer, he attempted to hide his face as the officer was passing. MCPD officer stopped to investigate and found that Jermoud Watts was a wanted person with the Morgan City Police Department. Subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he is still incarcerated. The warrant alleges that Jermoud Watts stole a cell phone and a pre-paid cellular phone card.

4. Antonio Giandelone, 26 years of age, Address-Little Flower Lane, Morgan City, Louisiana

Charges- Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Operation

Officers were summoned to the Highway 90 area in regards to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival officers located a vehicle resting against the retaining wall with damages. Upon speaking to the driver Antonio Giandelone, officers detected that the subject was exhibiting signs of being impaired. Officers spoke to witnesses and were advised that prior to the crash the vehicle driven by Antonio Giandelone was observed driving in a reckless manner by passing vehicles at a high rate of speed. Upon passing a vehicle, Antonio over corrected causing vehicle to hit the retaining wall where it came to rest. Antonio was given a field sobriety test in which he did poorly. Subject was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an intoxilyzer test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .000. Antonio Giandelone submitted to a urine test. The results of those tests are pending. He was booked and remains incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail Facility.
