A South Carolina company has acquired two canning plants owned by a New Iberia company.
McCall Farms purchased the Bruce Foods facilities near New Iberia and in Wilson, North Carolina.
According to Bruce Foods officials, McCall will begin canning Bruce's vegetable products. This, they say, will allow Bruce Foods to concentrate on their other brands, including Louisiana Hot Sauce and the Cajun Injector line of marinades and seasonings.
Bruce Foods says none of its employees at the two plants will lose their jobs. Instread, those employees will be transferred to McCall's payroll.
