WESTLAKE, La. (AP) - Westlake Mayor Dan Cupit says the city's police station is "falling apart" and city officials plan to find money to build a new one.
Cupit says the facility has termite problems and roof problems.
Plans were made three to four years ago to build a new station, but when the project was put out for bid it came back over budget.
Cupit says he and Police Chief Michael Dickerson have been working to get assistance and obtain grants to fund the project. He said the goal is to have money by the end of the fiscal year - June 30.
