NEW ORLEANS (AP) - As the parade season gets underway in New Orleans this weekend, and the mayor and police chief are asking people to practice three things - common sense, common courtesy and common safety.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu on Wednesday said the combination would make Mardi Gras more fun for everyone.
Among the rules: Don't throw anything back at parade floats, don't go to the French Quarter at night if you are under 17, and don't ignore police when they tell you to move.
Mardi Gras is Feb. 21, and parades will fill the streets on many nights and every weekend from here on.
