Business is coming to life in the village of Maurice.
Residents now have a their very own grocery store.
On Monday, Nunu's Market officially opened to the public.
"Everybody was waiting for it" ,said Lorcei Sonnier, a resident.
Before Nunu's opened, Maurice residents had to drive out of town to grocery shop.
Maurice Mayor, Wayne Theriot says residents can also look forward to a new nursing home and an apartment complex.
The nursing home will be available in November and the apartment complex will be finished in early 2012.
