Matthew Gotch Wanted for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

On December 10, 2010, at approximately 7:50 pm, a disturbance was reported in the 100 block of Van Buren between several individual. The disturbance turned violent when one of the suspects involved produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at the victim. The victim was struck once in the rear left thigh. The suspect fled the area immediately following the disturbance. The victim, an 18 year old male of New Iberia, was transported to an area hospital, treated and released.

Detectives have issued an arrest warrant for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder for the arrest of Matthew "Matt" Gotch (25) of Lafayette. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Gotch is encouraged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
