MARKSVILLE, La. (AP) - A Marksville city councilman is out on bond after being arrested Friday for neglecting his horses.

Avoyelles Parish Sheriff Doug Anderson tells The Town Talk Elliot Jordan was booked with public intimidation, resisting an officer, cruelty to animals and posted a $2,500 bond after police investigated a report of Jordan neglecting his horses. He said the report came from a concerned citizen.

Anderson said the case is still under investigation.

It could not be determined whether Jordan had an attorney.
