MARKSVILLE, La. (AP) - Avoyelles Parish deputies have charged a Marksville couple with multiple drug and weapons charges resulting from an investigation of alleged illegal drug trafficking.
Sheriff Doug Anderson tells The Town Talk 42-year-old Wayne Dauzat and 22-year-old Tiffany Jeansonne were arrested after investigators seized a quantity of suspected marijuana along with an assortment of Lortab, pheonbarbital and Vicoden pills and tablets, which are all controlled dangerous substances.
Anderson says deputies also seized seven long guns, one an AK-47-type assault rifle and 95 boxes of ammunition in addition to three handguns and more than $8,000 in cash believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug trafficking.
It could not be determined if suspects have attorneys.
