Markers at cemetery remember Vietnam vets

TICKFAW, La. (AP) - Two markers commemorating U.S. forces that fought in the Vietnam War have been unveiled at a cemetery in Tickfaw.

The Daily Star reports the Independence chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America organized the project and provided oversight during eight months of planning.

The markers are at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery in the Tangipahoa Parish community of Tickfaw.

The dedication ceremonies on June 14 - Flag Day - were attended by about 75 veterans and others and included a 21-gun salute.
