Mandeville nonprofit employees booked with theft

MANDEVILLE, La. (AP) - Two women who worked for a Louisiana nonprofit agency that was supposed to help homeowners in danger of foreclosure have been arrested and booked with theft.
St. Tammany Sheriff's Office officials say the two women were pocketing money intended for mortgage payments.
Deputies say 52-year-old Shawn Singleton and 44-year-old Angela Lyle were arrested last week and booked with theft of more than $1,500. They each have been released on $10,000 bonds.
Capt. George Bonnett says Singleton, of Mandeville, and Lyle, of Biloxi, Miss., worked for Life Impact Center, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Life Church in Mandeville. Bonnett says the organization was billed as working with mortgage companies to restructure home loans and help homeowners avoid foreclosure.
It was not clear whether the women have attorneys.
