SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A man accused of armed robbery in Florida has been arrested in Louisiana and his best friend is accused of trying to hide him from Slidell police, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
David Isiah Faciane, of Panama City, Fla., and Michael Anderson, of Slidell, both age 20, were being held Tuesday without bond, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. It was not clear whether either had an attorney.
Slidell Police Captain Kevin O'Neill said Faciane and Anderson were arrested Friday, when police and U.S. marshals showed up at Anderson's house in response to a tip from police in Panama City Beach.
As one officer stood by the back door and others at corners of the house, several officers walked up to the front door, O'Neill said.
"Before they could knock on the door the two guys came running out the back," he said.
He says Anderson ran out first in an alleged attempt to distract what he thought was a single officer. He was booked with being an accessory after the fact to armed robbery and resisting arrest by flight.
O'Neill said Faciane, who once lived in Slidell, was booked as a fugitive and with resisting arrest by flight.
