A man set to go on trial for vehicular homicide walked out of court before his trial began. 15th District Judge Kristian Earles has issued a failure to return to court warrant for Wade Lohse, the man accused of killing 29-year-old Cacie Barras of Lafayette.
Lohse, whose trial was supposed to start today, is accused of crossing the center line in June 2012 on the Youngsville Highway and crashing into Barras' vehicle. A few days later, he was later cited for driving on the wrong side of the road and for having an open alcohol container in his vehicle. He was later charged with vehicular homicide after toxicology test results showed he was impaired at the time of the crash, according to the Lafayette Police Dept.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Lohse should call 911.
