TALLULAH, La. (AP) - A Tallulah man arrested in the deaths of two young women in June will stand trial April 23.
The News-Start reports Walter Walker was indicted earlier this month by a Madison Parish grand jury on two counts of second-degree murder.
Walker is being held in the Madison Parish Detention Center on $1 million bond in connection with the deaths of 18-year-old Nakeisha Washington and 19-year-old Jasmine Smith, both of Tallulah.
Leroy Smith, Walker's attorney, said he has filed a motion of discovery to review evidence against Walker. He expects that motion to be heard in early September.
