BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Baton Rouge man wanted in the shootings of a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man has surrendered to authorities.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely Jr., a spokesman for the Baton Rouge Police Department, says 20-year-old Deaundre M. Williams turned himself in to police Friday and faces a charge of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
The Advocate reports the younger victim was shot in the head and has been pronounced brain dead. McKneely says police can issue the murder warrant even though the boy had not died. The older victim was shot in the back and is expected to recover.
The shootings occurred just before 2 a.m. Thursday.
McKneely says the three apparently were arguing over an unspecified incident that occurred about two weeks ago.
