Man surrenders in fatal hit-and-run accident

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A man wanted in the hit and run death of a 3-year-old girl earlier this week in eastern New Orleans has surrendered to police.
Officer Gary Flot says 22-year-old Shawn A. Dejean Jr. of Metairie arrived with his attorney and surrendered to police Wednesday night.
Dejean was booked with manslaughter, hit and run, and reckless operation.
Police allege that Dejean knocked Asia Williams to the ground with his motorcycle as he sped down a New Orleans street Monday night. The toddler was fatally injured, and the motorcyclist fled the scene.
