Man sentenced to 30 years for deadly punch

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Shreveport mechanic has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a fatal punch.
KTBS-TV reports that state District Judge Ramona Emanuel sentenced Carlton Church on Monday.
Shreveport police say that after Robert Hall III either bumped into or poked him, Church turned around and hit Hall in the face. Hall fell and hit his head on the concrete floor at the Chevrolet dealership where both men worked in March 2009. He died a few days later.
After his arrest, Church's attorney said his client never meant to kill Hall.
