Man sentenced in vehicular homicide case

A Crowley man has been sentenced to a minimum of five years in prison for the 2011 drunk driving death of an 18-year-old woman.

Tyson Dupuis received a ten-year jail sentence with the possibilty of probation or parole after five years. Dupuis was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and $15,000 to the family to cover funeral expenses.

Dupuis was drunk behind the wheel on August 12, 2011, when he crashed into a car driven by Michelle Romero. Romero died two days after the crash.
