BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) A 48-year-old Greenwell Springs man has been sentenced to a federal prison term of nearly five years after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.
Richard Paul Roy Jr. signed a statement Thursday in which he admitted he knowingly possessed 360 computer and video images of "minors in sexually explicit conduct."
James E. Boren, Roy's attorney, told U.S. District Judge James J. Brady that Roy has acknowledged what he did was wrong.
Brady sentenced Roy to a prison term of 57 months. The judge also ordered Roy to serve 10 years of post-prison supervision by federal officers.
