Man Robs Cottonport Bank

EFFIE, La. - Avoyelles Parish sheriff's deputies are search for a man who robbed a branch of Cottonport Bank in Effie.
Deputies say the robbery of the bank branch on La. Highway 107 took place at approximately 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputies tell The Town Talk that the suspect had earlier been to the branch to inquire about a loan. He returned a short time later and waited for the single customer to leave the bank, then brandished a blue steel revolver.
Authorities say he took an undetermined amount of money, bound the two employees' wrists and left them locked in a closet.
