KATC has learned Chris Hebert, the man reportedly behind the Facebook page "Busted In Acadiana," has filed a civil lawsuit against the Lafayette Police Department.

In the suit, filed on October 11, 2012, Hebert alleges he is the victim of a conspiracy, and that there was no probable cause for his arrest.

Hebert was arrested back on October 5, 2011. Police say he harassed and threatened a Lafayette woman via the phone and internet.

Hebert was formally charged with stalking and cyber-stalking on Wednesday.

In the suit, Hebert alleges the woman who claimed she was stalked by him conspired with various members of the police department to have him arrested.

Hebert is seeking damages including expenses for medical treatment, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, embarrassment, and loss of wages.
