Man pleads not guilty to sex crime charges

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 45-year-old Sulphur man accused of committing sex crimes against juveniles has pleaded not guilty in state district court.
The American Press reports Damon T. Skipper was indicted on one count of aggravated rape, along with his wife, 33-year-old Janice R. Skipper, on Jan 5. Janice Skipper is charged as a principal to the aggravated rape of a child.
On Monday, a state judge ordered Damon Skipper to stand trial June 18. A trial date for his wife has not been set.
Damon Skipper remains in jail on $850,000 bond; Janice Skipper remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
It couldn't be determined if the Skippers have an attorney.
