GONZALES, La. (AP) A St. Helena Parish man has pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual acts with two children over a six- to seven-year period in Ascension Parish.
Prosecutors tell The Advocate that 63-year-old Charles McCoy of Amite also faces nine more criminal counts involving child pornography or improper behavior with young girls in St. Helena Parish.
Shawn Bush, assistant district attorney, said Monday that McCoy now faces 5 to 20 years in prison on each count in Ascension Parish.
Judge Thomas J. Kliebert Jr. set sentencing for July 26.
